Rotational speed

Expected rotational speed for future VCR engines will be comparable to that of actual conventional supercharged SI engines, or even lower (downspeeding):

		Max torque speed at about 2,000 rpm or lower;
		Max power speed at about 5,500 rpm or higher;
		Limit speed at about 7,000 rpm.

Conclusion

Even if VCR engines are intended for downspeding strategy implementation, their rotational speed range must be comparable to that of existing SI engines.
